Family life and schooling are not the same today as they were even just a few years ago. Therefore, the approach to teaching, learning, and life in general sometimes demands a different and more importantly, a better approach. At Tutoring from the Heart, I am an advocate for the family. I work with the family, the student, the teachers, and community in any way necessary to get to the heart of the matter. Relationships are built and results happen. Tutoring from the Heart bridges gaps and makes connections for the benefit of the student.

Being a former classroom teacher, I know that schools are swamped with paperwork, testing, documentation, data, meetings, and of course, funding. All these things get in the way of real relationship building. As a result of these increased pressures placed upon educators, more and more children end up falling through the cracks. As a private tutor and consultant, I can afford the time and energy to delve into matters with parents in any area that relates to the educational needs of their children. Whether it be easing fears about testing and the SOLs, helping to make a decision about a change in schooling, or deciding curricula for home school environment. Most importantly, I can provide academic and emotional support to the child. I can be a supportive and encouraging influence for the ever-changing world of today's learner.
